Exciting Happenings

Joey and I have a lot of things going on right now. It seems like we are always on the go. We will be sure to share the details in a future post;-) So tune in!

Anyhow, to recap, my sister was just in town last weekend. We had a great time - we went shopping, shopping, to dinner, more shopping and spent several hours in MKE's largest used bookstore. You could literally spend days in this place and it smells like a library and is 4 levels. It was a great weekend and it was nice to spend some QT with Carleigh!

This coming weekend we will be traveling. And next weekend, we are heading to Hoosier country for an IU game - weather permitting. Hopefully, the weekend after that will be a lazy one of movie watching and house cleaning...and maybe even some warmer weather.

In other news, I am so excited for Alice in Wonderland to open. I am going to see it in IMAX 3D for sure!! I just have to find a free weekend to go. Also, I'm sad to say that I'm over the Olympics. It was cool for the first week - but all of the wonderful programming that helps me get through the week has been switched to re-runs! Also, I miss the Today Show and its real news - not just Olympic news. Does that make me un-American?

For your viewing pleasure!

Five Years of a Good Thing

Today is our five year anniversary and I can’t believe the difference between where we were then and where we are now. From the college world to the professional world – we have been side by side for all of it. Needless to say – we are together, living in Milwaukee and making each other laugh each and every day.

I know it sounds cliché, but I can’t wait for what our future holds.

Valentine Traditions

I know that many people think Valentine’s Day is a fake holiday made up by the card, candy and flower companies as a way to make money. I get it – it’s partially true. But I like any opportunity to make a day special and spend some quality time with Joey and let friends and family know I’m thinking about them.

Joey and I have a simple tradition. Joey gives me a flower for every Valentine’s Day we have spent together – this year it is going to be six (where has the time gone). I get him beer because when we had our first Valentine’s Day, we had just started dating and we weren’t 21 so I wasn’t going to do anything mushy…and I thought for a 20 year old college guy – beer was awesome.

So, I begged my mom to buy a 6-pack and I have given Joey beer every year since.

For dinner, we order pizza and watch some movies. It’s low key and that’s how we like it.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

AVATAR = AMAZING

A few weekends ago, Joey and I went to see Avatar in 3D at the IMAX. It was awesome. We had our first glimpse into the future because our kids are going to laugh at us when we tell them we used to watch movies on a flat screen with no 3D.

To be honest, Avatar isn't my typical kind of movie. I'm not a big science fiction person but I have to tell you - visually, this movie was a dream. There was so much to look at and when its coming at you, it seems like everything is real. I felt like I was inside the movie and even the lightning bugs and tree branches felt like they were up close... It was a cinematic experience and one that you shouldn't miss. This movie won't have the same effect on the small screen. Go see it! You will be happy you did!

I am really excited for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" which will be out in 3D on March 5. We saw the preview and it looks incredible!
