Joey and I have been trying to plan out our meals for the
week each Sunday. So far, it’s been great!
And because of our recent bout of cold weather, we decided
to cook up a classic! Grandma style.
Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Ingredients:
2.5-4 pound chuck roast (depending on how many you plan to
feed.)
salt and pepper to taste
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 cup water
1 stalk celery, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 potatoes, peeled and cubed (I like a lot of potatoes so we thew in a few more!)
Directions:
1. Season the roast with salt and pepper to taste. Brown on
all sides in a large skillet over high heat, about 4 minutes per side.
2. Place the roast in the slow cooker and add the soup mix,
water, carrots, onion, potatoes, and celery. NOTE: If you are going to be gone all day, follow above. If you are
going to be home while this cooks, I would recommend throwing the carrots in
mid way through – because they get very soft.
3. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8 to 10 hours. Enjoy!
